BARBEQUE BEANS

1 lb. small navy beans
4 cups water
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 small onion

1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
18 oz. bottle Bill Johnson's Original or Mesquite Barbeque Sauce


Place......................

beans and onions in large sauce plan. Cover with water and bring to a boil.

Simmer.................

slowly 2-3 hours, or until tender.

Combine...............

brown sugar, salt, pepper and Bill Johnson's Barbeque Sauce.

Stir.........................

into beans and simmer for 15 minutes.

Serve.....................

hot or cold.

BARBEQUED RIBS

4 lbs. beef or pork ribs, cut into serving pieces
1 large onion, sliced
18 oz. bottle Bill Johnson's Original or Mesquite Barbeque Sauce

1 bay leaf
2 cloves
1 tsp. salt


Place......................

ribs in large kettle and cover with water.

Add.........................

remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling.

Reduce...................

heat, cover and simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until meat is tender.

Remove..................

ribs from water. Brush each side generously with Bill Johnson's Barbeque Sauce.

Place......................

ribs in glass baking dish and cover with foil. Do not allow foil to touch meat. Refrigerate 2 hours or overnight.

Grill........................

6" from coals, turning and basting with remaining Bill Johnson's Barbeque Sauce frequently.

Cook......................

15-20 minutes, or until nicely browned.

Makes....................

6-8 servings.



BARBEQUED BRISKET

1 5-6 lb beef brisket
18 oz. bottle Bill Johnson's Original or Mesquite Barbeque Sauce

garlic powder
celery salt
onion salt
salt and pepper


Sprinkle..................

brisket all over with garlic powder, celery salt, onion salt, salt and pepper and rub in.

Brush.......................

entire brisket with 1/2 bottle of Bill Johnson's Barbeque Sauce.

Place......................

brisket in glass baking dish and cover with foil. Do not allow foil to touch meat.

Bake......................

in 275° oven for 4-5 hours. Remove, cool and refrigerate overnight.

Grill........................

approximately 6" from coals, turning and basting with remaining Bill Johnson's Barbeque Sauce occassionally.

Cook.......................

20-30 minutes or until thoroughly heated and well-browned.

Place......................

brisket on heated serving platter.

Cut........................

brisket diagonally into very thin slices.

Makes....................

12 servings.



BARBEQUED PORK ROAST

1 5-6 lb pork loin roast, chine bone cracked
18 oz. bottle Bill Johnson's Original or Mesquite Barbeque Sauce

garlic powder
black pepper


Sprinkle...................

roast all over with black pepper and garlic powder and rub in.

Place......................

roast flat bony side down on grill over a drip pan.

Cook.......................

1 hour, then add 5 or 6 hot coals on each side of drip pan. Cook 45 minutes.

Brush......................

on Bill Johnson's Barbeque Sauce. Cook 20 minutes longer and apply sauce again.

Cook......................

another 15-30 minutes, or until meat thermometer inserted in center of roast registers 165°F.

Place......................

meat on heated serving platter and let stand 10 minutes.

Slice.......................

into 6 thick chops.

BARBEQUED CHICKEN

1 broiler fryer chicken (about 3-4 lbs) cut in half or into serving pieces
18 oz. bottle Bill Johnson's Original or Mesquite Barbeque Sauce


Arrange...................

chicken pieces on grill set 6" from coals.

Cook......................

30-40 minutes, turning occassionally.

Brush......................

with Bill Johnson's Barbeque Sauce.

Cook......................

15-20 minutes, turning and basting with sauce frequently.
